ZEN KAUSER
I AM A MUSLIM
“when I was younger I always thought people were nice and that everyone loved and respected one another, but as I grew up and learned about Islamophobia I stopped believing that the world is a good place”
I began my project recording my family, depicting their lives and what everyday life is like for them, especially in a society infiltrated with a hatred of religion, specifically Islam. I wanted to show people not only what it was like to be a Muslim, but what it was like to be one in this generation. I wanted to show another side, a side away from the negative influence of social media and the news.
