Highly disciplined and dedicated to experimentation, Rob’s current practice explores the relationship between paint and movement and the way oil paint behaves when repeatedly applied in horizontal and vertical layers, a bit like weaving with paint. Rob is influenced by graphical elements such as maps and pixelated images, and recreate these using a unique painting process, while also representing landscapes that he finds inspirational, such as seascapes and foggy edgelands.
